Scientific Name : Dracaena fragrans
Common Name : Iron Plant, Corn Plant
Dracaena fragrans is a slow growing shrub. Leaves are arranged in a spirally, forming a rosette atop a woody stem or cane, which bears the leaf scars of shed foliage, similar to a palm. They have smooth, glossy, deep green or yellow and green striped leaves. The smaller, younger leaves are erect and spreading, while the older leaves (at the bottom of the rosette) tend to droop under their own weight and it will come either attached and sprouting from a brown textured stem. If you treat the plant very well, after many years you should get a bold ascent specimen with multiple crowns and the opportunity for it to produce a small spray of fragrant white flowers. The best indoor, less maintenance plant and ideal for home and offices.

PLANT CARE INSTRUCTIONS
LIGHT : Place the plant under shelter with as much light as possible without exposure to direct sunlight.
WATERING : Pour water over the expanded clay aggregates until the red needle in the water-leve indicator reaches the optimum mark (1/2). Only add water when the red needle in the indicator reaches the minimum mark (min). NEVER BEFORE. REMARK : Care must be taken not to overwater Dracaena fragrans as they become very susceptible to root rot if the media is constantly damp.
FERTILIZER : Dissolve 1 capful of Island Liquid Nutrient to 1 liter of water and pour the diluted nutrient over the expanded clay aggregates. Apply every alternate watering of your hydrocuture plants.
