Scientific Name : Pelargonium citrosum

Common Name : Mosquito Repellent Plant, Citrosa Geranium, Scented Geranium

Perennial subshrub with fragrant leaves that are reminiscent of citronella. An ideal plant for both indoors and outdoors and hardy year-round in any climates. 

MOSQUITO REPELLENT PLANT : Pelargonium citrosum is poular for its citrusy scent, which is thought to hold mosquito-repelling properties. 
 

PLANT CARE INSTRUCTIONS

LIGHT : It grows well in direct sunlight in garden, in indoor places, or low light conditions. A partially sunny and partially shady area is also preferred for good growth. This plant can sustain a high amount of sunlight but one must remember that scorching rays will burn the leaves. 

SOIL : Grow best  in moist, rich and well-drained potting mix.

WATERING : Watering the plant whenever the top layers of soil are dry. Recommand to water 2 times per week. Avoid overwatering as it may also casue root rot.

FERTILIZER : Apply granular compund (N:P:K) fertilizer or organic fertilizer (chicken/goat/sheep manure) or Island liquid nutrient fortnightly.

 

INSTRUCTIONS TO USE ISLAND LIQUID NUTRIENT 

Dissolve 1 capful of Island Liquid Nutrient to 1 liter of water and pour the diluted nutrient over the soil. Apply once every 2 weeks for healthy and luxuriant growth.
